Mozambique has quite a high number of regional issues, all issued by the Banco da Beira starting in 1919 and ending in a 1937 issue. I have managed to purchase Pick R7 which is a 1 Libra banknote from 1919. While most of these banknotes are cancelled, this one is not and according to the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money such notes are worth ‘at least double their catalog values.’ Unfortunately this one is in rough shape, but I love the fact that I now have a Libra Esterlina in my collection. This banknote cost me $10.51.
